Coach your Patients to be Posture PerfectMay is posture month. As a doctor of chiropractic, you already know the vast benefits of a strong, correct posture. But many of your patients may not realize the painful ailments that weak posture can cause, such as low back pain, neck pain, shoulder and mid-back ache, carpal tunnel, and knee and other join problems.
Throughout the month of May, we encourage you to make a conscious effort to coach your patients about the benefits of standing, sitting and sleeping with correct posture. Teach them to stand taller and encourage patients with desk jobs to take posture breaks throughout the work day.

EMV Deadline is Looming. Are you Ready? As the threat of credit card fraud continues to increase, the U.S. has begun taking necessary steps to protect cardholders, merchants, and banks alike. Euro Pay MasterCard Visa (EMV) is the new standard for credit card authentication and protection in the U.S today. All credit cards will soon have an EMV chip imbedded in them to increase security and decrease the probability of fraudulent activity for both cardholders and merchants. Along with chip technology, the use of new credit card terminals, enabled to “read” the chips and process payments, will also be necessary.
How does this impact your business?
Currently, if a credit card is compromised and fraudulent activity occurs, the issuing bank is held financially responsible. However, on October 1, 2015, a shift in the industry will now make you, the merchant, liable for any fraudulent charges, no matter the amount. As a result, merchants everywhere are turning to EMV-compatible terminals for the best protection against negative card activity.
Get a Free Terminal for your Clinic
One of the best EMV-compatible terminals on the market today is the Ingenico iCT250. It has both chip & PIN technology, as well as its ability to accept NFC payments, such as Apple Pay. Evolve Systems, a St. Paul, Minnesota-based web development and merchant processing firm, is offering a free Ingenico iCT250 terminal for any ChiroCare provider who signs up as a new Evolve customer for credit card processing services.
To get started, send an email with three months of credit processing statements to email@example.com. Within 24 hours, an experienced sales representative will contact you to get you enrolled and answer any additional questions. ICD-10: Dangers of Cheat Sheets and Short CutsNow that ICD-10 is official, it is time to gather the right tools to make sure you are fully prepared for the October 1 transition deadline. Dr. Evan Gwilliam, vice president of ChiroCode Institute, offers a valuable perspective on the dangers of using shortcuts when selecting ICD-10 codes.
