When to Seek Care

Because the lifetime prevalence of low back pain in adults is reported to be 85 percent, this is the most common reason for which patients seek chiropractic care. Chronic (ongoing) and acute (sudden) low back pain can be draining and lead to more suffering such as an inability to focus at work, difficulty with normal activities, or depression.

When sports injuries occur, chiropractors can help with things like strains and sprains, tendinitis (“overuse syndromes”), and stress fractures. When whiplash occurs—whether from a motor vehicle accident or from a fall or other incident—a chiropractor can get you back on the road to recovery quickly.

Patients also visit chiropractors for spinal exams and maintenance; to remain healthy, flexible and active; and to detect and correct small problems before they become big ones.

Chiropractic care is covered by most health plans in Minnesota, and study after study shows that chiropractic treatment for low back pain is one of the most effective and cost efficient approaches to restore mobility, reduce pain, and help people return to normal activities.
